Yew Cabinet

Composed of Pacific Yew, Chokte Kok, Pear, Gabon Ebony

My first student work at the Krenov School, a cabinet on stand or within a stand. I had a few ideas and goals with this piece. We had a former alumni Yeung Chan present his recreation of a Ming dynasty chair and demonstrate a handful of Chinese joinery examples. This was my first earnest exposure to eastern joinery and I was amazed. I employed one of those joints throughout the yew stand.
